A sneak peek of the sneak peek….
Posted on August 11, 2010
Lol! I will have more on the W/E but just had to put this mum’s mind at rest - our session didn’t quite go to plan to put it mildly. And as any mum of boys knows getting them to pose for photos isn’t the easiest thing in the world but take a look at this pic. So handsome but shhhhhhh don’t tell them! Enjoy A, will have more to show you on the W/E.

edited to add a couple more!

and this is how they look as a storyboard - wouldn’t this make a fantastic canvas! I am thinking I might just have to take my boys to this spot and get some pics because I want this for my wall now!

My last newborn for a couple of months :-(

and she was just beautiful! She was a very light sleeper though and made me work for the shots but seriously who could resist these lips…

I love shots showing how small newborns really are because we forget so quickly:

I hope she slept for you after I left J & R - enjoy your little peek and will be in touch shortly.
** On a side note I am now taking newborn bookings for Jan-June 2011. As I am filling up quickly please send me an email if you are interested. info@gabbymcdonald.com **
The lovely Lieushii…
Posted on July 31, 2010
One of the things I love about doing photos for people is watching their families grow & this family is very special as mum Jodi let me practice on her little man when he was first born (he was my first “official” newborn shoot) & I learnt so much from it - now nearly two years down the track and I had the delight to meet her new addition - the beautiful Miss Lieushii….
when she was awake she was so content, just look at those eyes - they remind me of her big brother and a shot I took of him looking at me…..

I just love her little rolls, soooo cute (& probably the only time in someone’s life you can say that
)….
Congrats again B fam - it was so lovely to meet her and I will be in touch soon with the rest.
Happy birthday…..

to Miss K, who turned two today. I cannot believe how quickly she is growing up, it only seems like yesterday that I took photos of her at six weeks old - now look at her:
she tried to be shy…

…but I think it lasted for oh, about 5 seconds, then she was dancing, playing, spotting planes and generally keeping us on the move! (I needed a nap afterwards, lol)
I can’t decide if I like the following pic in colour or b&w best so thought I’d show both & let you decide, how sweet is she?!

I hope you are having a wonderful birthday Miss K - make sure you eat a nice big slice of cake for me!

Ok, ok, I know that blog title isn’t my best work but it has been a long day…..my Jakey-Jake is not well! So I am just going to get straight to the pics of the delighful Miss Lylah. Enjoy your little peek S& J.
I love this one with her mummy, isn’t it just beautiful:

Now I’d better get back to looking after my little man.
Grace-ful….

See my clients do know I like them to name their babies so it works in with my blog titles
. Meet Miss G who was so very graceful as I moved her into all the different poses. She took some convincing that she needed to go to sleep but my baby whispering finally worked and here is just a little peek at what I got:

and if you have ever tried to take sibling photos with a newborn you would know how hard it can be. But when you get a shot like this one it makes it all worth while…so, so, sweet:

Enjoy your little peek K & S and I will have the other ready soon. Feel free to leave a comment too
Bella-issimo….

I love it when parents name their babies with my blog post titles in mind, lol! This little one’s name suits her perfectly though. She was very easy to photograph too - each time I moved her she would give a little cry, as if to say “but I was so comfy” and then just go straight back to sleep. Her big sis wasn’t too sure about the whole experience although she has had photos with me before…in fact she was one of my very first newborns. But she did decide to make a brief appearance so we could get a couple of pics with her little sister. So here is the beautiful Bella….
with big sis M:

Look at all the gorgeous hair….
Enjoy your sneak peek E & D, I will be in touch soon with the others.

Happy belated mothers day

I hope all the mums had a wonderful day. We had a lovely lunch with family and friends, it was so nice to catchup with everyone. However the busy weekend has put me behind in my editing and blog previews. So for a special new mummy here is a quick peek of your beautiful little man:

and aren’t these lips just completely smoochable…love them:

and the new family:

congrats again guys and I will be in touch soon with the rest.
Dance to the Piper…
Posted on April 19, 2010
this was the name of the book I was reading when Tori called to tell me she had had her baby - a little girl named….Piper. Spooky, lol! And I have to say Piper lived up to the title of the book as she made us dance to her tune but not to be outdone we persisted…& persisted (over two sessions) and eventually we won out and managed to get some lovely sleeping shots. But I have to show this awake one first - I captured it at the very end of our 2nd session and I love the expression. I am sure she is thinking…”Ok, you’ve got your photos, will you please go away now and leave me in peace”, lol!!

and of course….fast asleep AFTER we worked out she liked it nice and hot so we were sweltering but she was so content:

and I now have a number of favourite siblings shots and this one is being added to the top of the list…I wish they were my kids and I could hang this on MY wall:

Oh my gosh Annie, I cant believe how much the boys have grown up. I reckon I could have walked past them in the street and not recognised them.
But at the same time, they are really still looking quite different as they grow older (even though obviously they are meant to look the same in this shot, in the same clothes, lol).
Great work as always Gab!
These are gorgeous photos bet mum is soooo impressed, love the storyboard.
